Honey Oat Biscuit Recipe

Below is the recipe for category 14 of the Home Baking section.

Ingredients

3oz (75g) porage oats
4oz (110g) plain flour, sifted
3oz (75g) sugar
1 tsp baking powder
4oz (110g) margarine
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp baking soda

Method

Preheat oven to 200 C, 180 C for Fan oven, 400 F, Gas mark 6

  1. Begin by mixing the porage oats, flour, sugar and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, stir the remaining three ingredients over a gentle heat until the margarine is melted. Then pour these into the bowl and mix well.
  3. Now, using teaspoonfuls of the mixture, roll into balls and flatten.
  4. Place these on greased and lined baking trays, spacing them out well to allow for expansion in the oven.
  5. Bake for 9-10 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from baking trays.
