Sponsored Walk

On the afternoon of the 16th all of the children at Eday Primary School walked from the school to the shop- a distance of nearly four miles, in an effort to raise money for Comic Relief

Start off

At 1.15pm, after waiting for a heavy snow shower to pass, all eight of the schoolchildren, along with staff and other tag-alongs assembled in the playground.

First Break

some 30 or 40 minutes later - we didn't really take count we reach the first milestone, at the end of Skaill road. We seem to have picked up a couple of extras by this time.

The End At Last (well nearly)

Four miles and two hours later we reach the shop, having picked up yet more tag-ons. The primary ones put in a particularly good effort and made it with few complaints.

There then followed a sale of cakes in the shop which the children had made in the morning.

Through a brilliant effort by the children they managed to raise a total of very nearly three hundred pounds (£300) - wow!

A big thank you to all who helped and took part, and especially to those drivers who stopped to give us encouragement on the way.
